Empire Coins have nothing to do with CS2 itself – they’re the internal balance used on the third-party skin-betting site CSGO Empire, not something Valve puts in your game. If you’ve been trading skins since the CS:GO days you’ll recognise the shape of it – it’s the same third-party skin-economy logic that’s existed for years, just with Empire’s own house games layered on top. There’s no mission, level-up, or in-game market where you earn or spend them – the whole system lives on CSGO Empire’s platform.

How Empire Coins actually work

  1. Deposit. You fund your CSGO Empire account with CS2 skins, cryptocurrency, or (where supported) cash.
  2. Convert. Whatever you deposit gets converted into Coins at a floating, market-linked rate – skins are valued against their current market price, so the Coins-per-dollar rate moves with the skin market rather than being fixed.
  3. Wager. Coins are the stake currency for CSGO Empire’s games – roulette, coinflip, case openings, case battles, and match betting on CS2 and other esports.
  4. Withdraw. Winnings come back out as skins or cryptocurrency. CSGO Empire doesn’t pay out Coins directly to a bank account or card – see our cash-out guide for the full withdrawal picture.

Not to be confused with Diamond Pick’Ems coins

Valve also has its own “coin” system – the Bronze/Silver/Gold/Diamond Pick’Ems coins earned by correctly predicting Major matches. Those are cosmetic Steam profile items with zero connection to CSGO Empire’s Coins – see our Diamond Pick’Ems coins guide for that side of things.
