A few weeks ago, Valve made some change to the way Patch updates are announced in Dota 2 The previous version saw huge swathes of time periods in one single patch. But with the new system, we will see a patch update every two weeks. The new system is definitely more flexible and allows for constant tweaking of the game. However, a downside of the new system is basically the fact that teams have much less time to prepare for the new patch. With the EPICENTER XL slated to start today, the recently announced 7.14 update definitely calls into question several of the pre-set strategies for teams.
You used to be able to prep for a tourney. Now, it's nearly all intuition and luck. Either you somehow binked on the right concept or you did not. How is this a competitive game? Why don't we ability draft while at it and spawn SSBM items, pokeballs and everything?

Maybe Valve should have a workaround for tournament maps, where they will be updated only after a few weeks? Regardless, they need to find a quick solution to this problem.
