Cloud9 became the first North American team to win the Eleague Boston Major 2018. This marks the first American team to ever win a Counter-Strike Major. Facing off against Faze a team which had repeatedly been able to best Cloud9 in various other matches, Cloud9 put on a stellar performance. The home crowd was definitely a factor as we could see the players enjoying the support and attention of the crowd.

The finals was a Best of Three series and it went the distance. The three maps were Mirage, Overpass, and Inferno. Mirage was a close victory for Faze with a 16-14 scoreline. The second map was Overpass, which is generally considered to be the home ground for Faze. Their results show that they have been the uncontested champions on Overpass, yet they were unable to make it past cloud9 in the finals. They lost the finals 10-16.

The final map was Inferno definitely the map that everyone will talk about for ages. Cloud9 were trailing behind Faze and then managed to make the comeback and tie the map at 15-15. It was the first Major final to go to Double Overtime, a statistic that can truly emphasize the excitement level of each fan of Counter-Strike.
