Popular NBA 2K League launches into Mexico with new partnership

A partnership agreement with the Spanish esports organisation DUX Gaming has expanded the NBA 2K League into Mexico.

DUX Gaming is set to launch an expansion team from the Mexican NBA 2K League, which will be the first Latin American NBA 2K League team.

Dux Gaming is an esports organisation with teams in a range of Spanish football leagues and video game titles. NBA 2K League team from DUX Gaming will join the NBA 2K League in spring 2022 next season.

After the addition of Gen. G Tigers to Shanghai in 2020, this team expands on its global footprint. DUX Gaming’s team will be the 24th team in the NBA 2K League and the second team outside the United States and Canada to expand their teams.

‘RafaelTGR’ Rafael Tobias Garcera Rodrigo, a previous NBA 2K League draught prospect, will serve as DUX Gaming’s general manager and will participate in the NBA 2K League European Invitational 2019.

“This is a historic day as we welcome another leading international organisation to the NBA 2K League family. NBA 2K League President Brendan Donohue said.

“DUX Gaming has a demonstrated track record of growing its fan base in new and creative ways which makes it an ideal partner to help the NBA 2K League successfully expand to Latin America, where basketball and 2K are already incredibly popular. We’re thrilled that DUX Gaming will represent Mexico in the NBA 2K League for years to come.”
