X7 Esports, located on the Isle of Man, has purchased Bulldog Esports, a British esports organization.
Bulldog Esports, founded in 2017, has been acquired by X7 Esports, a British esports organization. Bulldog has been a popular name in the UK scene for a while now and is well-known for its involvement in both Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2.
This acquisition bolsters an already solid lineup of players that includes Team EnVyUs legend Kenny “KennyS” Schrub. More information about the acquisition will be available following the signing of an official agreement between X7 and Bulldog Esports.
X7 Esports is still relatively new compared to similar organizations such as Fnatic or Cloud9 but they have quickly made their presence known with acquisitions such as this one from Bulldog Esports. Bulldog has an extensive history in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene with multiple championships under their belt. In their primary spot, they have been the runner-up of the ESL One: Cologne 2017 tournament and have also won major events such as ESL Pro League Season 4.
The acquisition is a major move for X7 Esports, a team that has placed well in ESEA Invite Season 26 and in recent weeks will be participating in the ESWC CSGO qualifiers in Paris. They will again be participating in the ESEA Invite Season 27 later this year. The Bulldog roster itself will remain intact; however, their former owner, Richard ‘shox’ Papillon, will no longer take part.
All of the current players will remain with X7 Esports including Kenny “KennyS” Schrub, who has proven his worth since joining the team back in July. He is also coming off a major victory at Gamescom, placing 1st in his group and eventually defeating G2 Esports to take the third-place prize.
Kenny “KennyS” Schrub is a mainstay within the team and is a proven leader. He will be a core player for X7 Esports and should prove his worth as a player going forward.
Bulldog Esports was founded in 2017 by Antony Newton. A major accomplishment during his time with Bulldog was playing in DreamHack Open Winter 2018, where they finished 3rd after defeating Burn Out Gaming at the final stage. Along with this success, they won ESWC 2017, ESL One: Cologne 2017, and DreamHack Valencia 2017 titles amongst others.
