The group stage of ESL One Hamburg 2019 ended earlier today and we were left with the Upper Bracket finals to close the day after we saw four teams excluded from the tournament–Alliance taking on TNC Predator and Gambit Esports taking on Vici Gaming.

Upper bracket finals would be an impressive showcase at ESL One Hamburg 2019 when each group’s top teams; Vici Gaming and TNC respectively took the opposite group’s second place. The group stages were almost undefeated by both VG and TNC, both losing just one player. But one of these teams would continue their invincible streak when it came down to it, while the other would become overshadowed and fall into the lower bracket.
Joining them in the top bracket final was an unlikely opponent, especially after Vici Gaming’s Chinese squad seemed so dominant in the group stages. However, as they knocked their opponents down into the lower bracket, Gambit was more than up to the challenge. After a fantastic season last season in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit, when it came to qualifying for The International 2019, Gambit fell apart. But with a new squad, they seem to be healthy, ready to dominate and have now won a top three finish in Hamburg.
The competition at ESL One Hamburg 2019 is far from over and with more relegation on the cards we will jump back into the playoffs tomorrow.
