South African team Bravado won Dreamhack Mumbai 2018. This event was the first tournament for Dreamhack in all of Asia. Their foray into Asia definitely opens up huge opportunities for the event organiser. As the year comes to an end, Dreamhack will crown Bravado as the Dreamhack Mumbai Champions. With this victory, the South African team wins roughly $35,587.90.
The Grand Finals saw Bravado compete against Signify, an Indian team. This Indian team came into formation just a few days before the start of the tournament. They also had a German player, YB on their roster. In addition to this, CrazyGuy joined the team just a few days before the tournament. While their potential is high, the team had no experience. They definitely had very little practice together.
Signify had a very dominant start to the tournament, one which was definitely a scare for the South African team. They were unable to make anything happen on Inferno as Signify pressed forward consistently on multiple areas of the map. More than aim, Bravado seemed unable to comprehend how to counter Signify.
Over the course of the next two maps, we could see a visible change in Bravado’s playstyle. They were willing to take the fight to their opponents. They were not giving Bravado the same amount of respect. AS they started winning rounds they got a lot of their confidence back. Sonic was crucial in shutting down rounds on Dust 2 with the AWP. On the third map, Bravado totally shut down Signify.
With this win, Bravado ends 2018 on a high. They will be participating in the Katowice Minor and this win definitely goes a long way in boosting their confidence. For now, the team will prepare for the upcoming Minor performance. We do wish them the best of luck.
