ESL One Katowice is one of the few Dota 2 events not to be a part of the Dota Pro Circuit. Despite this, they command a lot of respect and a star-studded lineup. This is mostly because of the huge prize pool and the pride of playing in front of the Katowice Crowd. ESL recently joined hands with the Katowice government and will continue hosting ESL One Events in the city for the future.
ESL One Katowice features a prize pool of $300,000 and will have twelve teams in attendance. It takes place over a six day period starting on the 19th of February 2019. The event will take place at the Spodek Arena with a seating capacity of 11,500. Katowice has become one of the most prestigious events in the ESL One Calendar. The event sees multiple esports titles including Starcraft, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike. Indeed the 2019 ESL One Katowice event will also be a Counter-Strike Major.
