TNC Predator has announced that it will not be participating in the upcoming ESL One Hamburg. The decision comes just a week after they managed to qualify for the tournament after defeating EVOS Esports 3-0 in the Grand finals. The decision to withdraw from ESL One Hamburg comes after a conflict in the schedule for the team. They are slated to appear at WESG Philippine Finals 2018.
For many, this decision might seem questionable, but the organisation was steadfast in its statement. The national pride of representing the country at WESG is a matter of prestige for the team.
We are withdrawing from ESL One Hamburg due to schedule conflict with WESG Philippine Finals. Many may question our decision but we want to represent the Philippines again in WESG if given the chance.

It is a huge risk for the team as there is no guarantee of an appearance at WESG 2018. Their decision to represent their country is a bold move for the team, especially since they had already secured a spot at ESL One Hamburg 2018.
ESL is on the lookout for a replacement.
This surprise decision has definitely left ESL one team short. They will announce a new team to join the event very soon.
Due to scheduling conflicts, @TNCPredator have decided to withdraw from #ESLOne Hamburg 2018.
We are currently in the process of finalizing their replacement team and will announce it in the near future. https://t.co/87ooprTShS

The most obvious choice would be the second place finish in the SEA qualifiers. However several factors will impact this decision, such as the procurement of visas and the ready availability of players to travel.
ESL One Hamburg will take place from 23rd to 28th October 2018. It will feature a prize pool of $300,000 with twelve teams in contention.
WESG is an Olympics style tournament with teams comprising of players from the same nationality. With most of the esports teams comprising of players from various nationalities, we often see mixed teams come into formation. As such TNC Predator has a huge advantage over other teams who might participate at WESG. TNC Predator already has all players from the same country. This provides them with a unique advantage for the team with greater synergy and better team coordination. WESG also features a much bigger prize pool than ESL One Hamburg. WESG 2017 featured a prize pool of $1,500,000.The higher prize pool might also have been a feature for TNC Predator as they chose to skip ESL One Hamburg 2018.
