Cognitive Gaming to cease operations from 2017

Founded in July of 2013, COGnitive Gaming (COG) was an eSports Franchise located in California. The smite team acquired was previously known as SNIPE gaming. The team competed under the name SNIPE against Team Dignitas(formerly known as ROOT) in a showmatch at RTX July 6th, where they lost 2-1. They also traveled to PAX Prime 2013 where they placed 3rd, beating Reason Gaming in the 3rd place match. On December 13, 2013, COG dropped the “SNIPE” roster, and acquired what was the “XTS” roster, led by andinster. Eventually COGnitive Gaming adquired The Game Changers roster (Now COGnitive Red), and changed their original team into COGnitive Prime. On January 11th, 2015, they defeated Titan 3-2 to win the 2015 Smite World Championships.

On January 26th, 2015, COGnitive Prime became Cloud9 when the team was acquired by Cloud9’s owner, Jack Etienne. No roster changes have been made in this transition. On February 14th, COGnitive Gaming picks up What’s Kraken after they win third place in the 2015 Week 1 Qualifiers.
