Wesley Edens to invest $2.5 into buying Cloud9’s spot at LCS

Wesley Edens is all set to invest about $2.5 million into eSports. He is actively looking forth to League of Legends team Cloud9 who have a huge fan base and are based in North America. The investment will not be from his personal account but via the Fortress Investment Group. The company which went public on February 9, 2007; is actively looking forth to enter the growing eSports scene. Wesley Edens who is one of the principal founder of Fortress Investment Group, has been an ardent supporter of eSports and his confidence in the sector can be judged from the forthcoming investment.

According to rumors, Wesley Edens is looking forth to buy the Cloud9 Challenger Series spot. This would be a major investment and it would also include the right to contract former C9 players “Balls”, “Hai”, “Altec” and “Lemon nation”.

There were rumors about Cloud9’s spot being on sale previously. However the alleged deal with a United Arab Emirates buyer did not go through.
