Gamers2 decline their invitation to IEM Gyeonggi

Gamers2 have announced that they will not be accepting the invitation for the IEM Gyeonggi which will take place from December 16-18. This shows them following the general trend of declining invitations just prior to the Worlds.

We would like to apologise to the fans who were eager to watch our team in action one more time before the end of the year. While we understand that the international experience could be beneficial to the players, we believe that, since our focus is on preparing for the upcoming Spring Split, the team would not be able to perform at a level that would reflect their potential or the benefits that will result from the structural improvements that are in place.

G2 is hard at work in preparation for the 2017 EU LCS Spring Split

Over the coming weeks, we will lift the lid on the improved infrastructure that will support our League of Legends roster in 2017. After reaching an agreement for the team’s renewal, the path we have set out for ourselves is clear: we want to defend our EU LCS titles and make our mark at an international level.

Their priorities are definitely set with them prioritising the teams EU LCS Titles and striving hard to retain that. They will be seen in the Worlds earlier next year.
