Reunited in talks with top Sports Clubs

Reunited are reportedly in talks with top Sporting houses and Clubs from NBA, Bundesliga and Premier League for investments. This news follows close on the announcement for an Overwatch league made by Blizzard during Blizzcon 2016.

The Overwatch League is said to be a secure environment for teams and organisations to invest into eSports. Primary reports suggest no relegation and hence a secure investment for team owners. With other games such as Riot Games League of Legends requiring a $1.5 million investment by the team owners, Blizzardś Overwatch League might actually be a much more lucrative opportunity for team owners.

Esports has been receiving a lot of attention from mainstream media and investors. With NBA teams such as 76´ers and Paris Saint Germaine already investing in eSports, the scene looks set to grow at an exponential rate.

According to Reunited Manager Frederik Kragh Kristensen :

“As one of the best overwatch teams in the world, it is absolutely crucial for us to make sure that we make it to the league. So yes, we are in talks with clubs from NBA, Premier League, and Bundesliga, as we cannot do this by ourselves. Reunited is likely going to be acquired prior to the upcoming Overwatch league. And certainly, other esports teams will look to partner up with other sports teams moving towards the league,” Christensen said. “We didn’t finalize a deal yet and are still open to offers.”

There has been no confirmation from any other source yet, but with Overwatch League looming nearby, this news should not be discarded at face value. We will keep you informed about any developments in the scene.
