TNC Predator releases statement detailing their actions against Kuku.

TNC Predator releases statement detailing their actions against Kuku.

Recently two professional Dota 2 players have come under the scanner for their usage of racist terms. One player, Skem from Complexity Gaming used the word in a competitive match. The other player is Kuku of TNC predator Dota 2 team. He used the word in a Pub match and has been the focus of multiple Chinese accusations since then. The Filipino player ended up making several excuses.

The delay in the apology was followed by a public apology on a twitter account where there are only two followers. This apology did not seem genuine to the fans. The Chinese community had multiple voices including professional players, teams as well as Perfect World. They are the distributors of Dota 2 in China and they also urged Valve to show an example of the players.

Valve did not do much, except releasing a public statement on the official website. This was not followed by any punishment or fines on the two players. Their individual teams did punish the players which included either benching them or imposing a fine. Regardless of the lack of any official action by Valve irked multiple Chinese fans.

The Chinese government is recently involved in possibly banning the two players from the upcoming Chongqing Major. The Chongqing Major takes place in January 2019 and is one of the five Majors for the upcoming season.

Valve is still silent on the matter, but TNC Predator release a public statement

While Valve has kept a tight lip on this matter, TNC predator has gone ahead and released a public statement. This is to ensure that the Chinese community understand the level of punishment imposed on the player for his actions.

In this series of Tweets, TNC Predator mentions how the player has been fined his winnings from the Kuala Lumpur Major. There is also future consequences as he will be fined his winnings from the Chongqing Major. This is with the assumption that the team will qualify for the upcoming Major.

We expect Valve to release a public statement very soon. For now, they are busy talking to all the parties involved in this matter. Since this is a very sensitive matter involving Governments, Valve has to tread carefully. Another factor looming large over the entire situation is The International 2019, Shanghai.
