Quickshot puts an end to his Worlds 2018 as he returns home for a family emergency,

Trevor “Quickshot” Henry has recused himself from the Worlds 2018 cutting short his time at the event. The caster is one of the oldest and well-known casters in League of Legends. He was scheduled to cast one of the upcoming semifinal matches at the event. His announcement comes 5 days before the start of the semifinals, which should be enough time for Riot to find a replacement.

Fortunately for League of Legends fans, Riot does have backup casters available. We don’t know the exact schedule of casters’ designated matches so it will be interesting to see which casting duo gets which semifinal.

My Worlds run is over, I have come back home to help with some family problems. I had an amazing time covering this year’s tournament and I’m confident that the casting team will continue to kick ass all the way to finals.

Quickshot.

The World Championships resumes on October 27th. There are only four teams remaining and surprisingly they do not include the tournament favourites. With no Korean teams in contention at this year’s Worlds, every match hereon becomes extremely important and exciting. The fact that there is still a North American team in contention is driving up viewership numbers for league of legends.

With Quickshot’s departure, we will see someone new to the casting desk. For now, we await some classic casting by David “Phreak” Turley and Martin “Deficio” Lynge.
