X Games to host Rocket League

X Games will host Rocket League in 2017. Rocket league started off as a very casual sport, but has slowly built up its way into the esports calendar. There are almost 32 million Rocket League players, and that is just the lower end of the graph for the game.

The X Games tournament will feature a $75000 prize pool and will be held from July 14-16. It will be streamed live on ESPN 3 and is definitely a good contender for esports going mainstream.

The event will be part of the X Games village, which features art installations, musical acts, interactive skateboarding and BMX courses. It runs alongside the main X Games event, which features elite skateboarding, BMX and moto events. X Games has hosted several eSports competitions in the past, including Call of Duty and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments. The 2017 X Games will take place at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN from Thursday, July 13th through Sunday, July 16th.
