HLTV adds Rating 2.0 to its website

HLTV has been the cornerstone for statistics in CSGO. The website provides a detailed coverage of players, their KDA, map vetoes etc. However one of the biggest criticisms for the website was its bad design for many. However HLTV has been slowly revamping the website in order to make it appealing to the masses.

A few weeks ago, we had a massive revamp of the entire website which gave it a very sleek and comfortable look. The new rating will feature several new statistics which might be useful to determine which player actually has more impact in a round.

Rating 2.0 is based on the same principle as Rating 1.0 – we take the expected value (average) for certain statistics (like kills per round) and check how much above or below that expected value a certain player is.

The first difference is that we now calculate these values separately for CT and Terrorist sides, as expected values differ that way. The second is that instead of previously dividing by the average to find how much a player stands out (or not), we check how many standard deviation.
