Las Vegas has been on the precipice of positioning itself as the leading destination for esports wagers. Being a gambling approved state it is a big financial market for the Gambling community. They already got a first hand impression of the reach of esports betting when figures for CSGOlounge and other betting websites were related.
These websites were of course unregulated and hence posed a big threat to most of the average user. With the Nevada Gambling commission controlling most of the betting and wagering that happens in Las Vegas, William Hill approached them to take wagers for the upcoming Dreamhack Event.
Dreamhack Las Vegas starts on February 15th and will feature the best of the CSGO teams. If the past Dreamhack events are to go by, this event will boast of significant viewership as well.

William Hill will also be offering matchup wagering on Quarterfinal, Semifinal, and Final rounds of the tournament. This will be the second time wagering on esports has been legally offered in the United States. William Hill previously offered futures and matchup wagering on November’s IEM Oakland League of Legends esports event. In the IEM Oakland League of Legends esports event, eventual champion Unicorns of Love originally opened at 10/1 odds.
