Overwatch is the upcoming Game of the Year for 2017. It has seen several changes and updates since its release in May 2016. We have seen new maps, new heroes in the game. While there have been balanced changes for the most part, we can also see some changes which are considered overpowered by many. The PTR is the short form for Public Test Region. It is used to test out future patches on the updates in Overwatch. It provides stability and a good feedback mechanism.

While Blizzard has total control over their PC updates, there is a significant delay in updates to consoles. This is partly due to the third party hardware integrations.
