Faze and North invited to IEM Katowice 2017

IEM Katowice 2017 is scheduled to be held on February 25-26. The event which will be held in Poland will definitely be a home team advantage for Virtus Pro the Polish CSGO team. Having heralded the era of Major tournaments in CSGO, Katowice is deemed as a milestone in the eSports economy.

IEM have been releasing the names of the teams in a staggered format. They have announced the latest two teams to be invited to IEM Katowice 2017. North and Faze are the teams to be invited to the tournament which will be held in March.

FAZE CLAN

FaZe Clan are an European team with great players in their lineup but without a tournament win to their name yet. They compete at the biggest CS:GO events and some of their results from 2016 include:

  • 7th/8th place at IEM World Championship Katowice
  • 9th/12th at ESL One Cologne
  • 3rd/4th at IEM Oakland
  • 3rd/4th place at ELEAGUE Season 2
  • 1st/2nd place at the ELEAGUE major offline qualifier

NORTH

North may be a brand new organisation but its roster is well known and experienced as it consist of the ex-Dignitas lineup. The players parted ways with Dignitas right after qualifying for the ELEAGUE major and started a new chapter with the newly established North, an affiliate of FC Copenhagen and Nordisk Film. The lineup’s most recent results include:

  • 1st place at WESG 2016 European Finals
  • 1st place at EPICENTER
  • 5th/8th place at ELEAGUE season 2
