The Eleague Major is the first major to abandon the double elimination format. It has been using the Swiss format which essentially gives the teams multiple chances to prove themselves. The first team to lose 3 matches goes out of the tournament.
Similarly the first teams to win 3 matches progress to the playoffs. The performance of the players and teams definitely is tested to its extreme. However that being said you should understand that the teams will not face the same team yet again.
Great to see the Swiss system so well received at the Major. We will continue to use it more and more for our own events as well.
