Esports has always been the little brother to traditional sports in terms of numbers and sometimes even in revenues. However eSPorts has seemingly stopped playing catchup in at least one field.
According to Pinnaclesports, the amount bet on eSports is 10% higher than that bet on Ice Hockey for the year 2016.
“As of today, our esports wage count is 10% ahead of Ice Hockey for 2016,” Marco Blume, trading director at Pinnacle said.
Considering eSports is a relatively new area for betting; it is heartening to see it perform much better than some other well established sports avenues.
